To obtain a student visa in Azerbaijan, you will be issued a temporary residency permit valid for the duration of your studies. Here’s what you need to do and the documents you’ll need:

Visit your nearest Azerbaijani embassy, consulate, or visa center to apply for the visa and permit.

Provide the following seven pieces of evidence:

  1. Two passport photos
  2. Medical certificate demonstrating your fitness and health, along with medical insurance
  3. Your passport and a photocopy of the ID pages
  4. Completed visa application form
  5. Notarized tenancy agreement
  6. Copy of your landlord’s application to the State Migration Service in Baku
  7. Copy of your landlord’s ID proving Azerbaijani citizenship

Don’t worry; gathering this paperwork is manageable. Your school can assist you in finding rental accommodation and compiling the necessary Azerbaijani-language documents. Your school will act as your sponsor during the visa application process.

Fees for the visa vary depending on your passport and residency status. It’s best to check with your local embassy, consulate, or visa center for the latest fees. Processing time can range from fourteen to forty days, as all applications are handled directly by the State Migration Service in Baku.

Despite the lengthy process, once approved, your visa and permit will remain valid for the duration of your studies in Azerbaijan.
