Singapore Student Visa Application Requirements 

Applying for a student visa to study in Singapore involves several steps and the submission of required documents. Here’s a detailed guide:

  1. Eligibility: Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria based on your age and the type of course you wish to pursue.
  2. Document Preparation:
    • Valid passport with a minimum validity of three months beyond your intended stay.
    • Completed Student Visa Application Forms (ICA form 16 & Form V36).
    • Payment receipt for the application fee of S$30 (approximately Rs 1,841).
    • Offer letter from the Singapore institute or university.
    • Two passport-sized photographs.
    • Bank statements and fixed deposit receipts (if necessary).
    • Transcripts, diplomas, degrees, or certificates from previous educational institutions.
    • Test scores (if applicable).
    • Proof of funds to cover educational, living, and travel costs.
  3. Application Submission: New applications must be submitted at least one month before the course commencement date through the Student’s Pass On-Line Application & Registration (SOLAR) system.
  4. Registration by Institute: The educational institution must register the student on SOLAR with relevant course and personal details.
  5. Submission of eForm 16: Once registered, the student can log in to SOLAR and submit eForm 16, providing passport details, Singapore address, and contact details.
  6. Print and Submit eForm: After submitting eForm 16, the student must print a copy and submit it to the Student’s Pass Unit, ICA, to complete the formalities for the issuance of a Student’s Pass.
  7. Dependents: Spouses and children of full-time graduate research students can apply for a Social Visit Pass. They should obtain an entry visa from Singapore’s embassy and will receive a 4-week Social Visit Pass upon arrival in Singapore.
  8. Part-time Work: Students can work part-time for up to 16 hours per week without a work permit. During holidays, they can work full-time without restrictions.
  9. Post-Degree: After completing the degree program, students can apply for a one-year Visit Pass through ICA to seek employment opportunities in Singapore.
