Student Visa Requirements for Brazil If you’re planning to stay in Brazil for longer than 90 days, you’ll need to prepare the following documents:
  1. Your passport.
  2. Two passport-sized photos.
  3. Proof of enrollment in a Brazilian educational institution.
  4. Proof of residency if you’re applying from a country other than your home country.
  5. Receipt for the $180 visa fee, which must be paid at the time of application.
  6. A police certificate issued by the authorities in your country of residence.
All these documents must be processed in-person at the nearest Brazilian embassy, consulate, or visa center. If you’re already in Brazil, you can apply to change your status in-country. In this case, you’ll still need to submit the same documents. You can initiate the application process using the provided form and then visit the nearest immigration center. In-country applications cost 204BRL ($40 USD). Once issued, student visas are valid for the entire duration of your studies and are multiple entry, allowing you to enter and exit the country as needed. Remember, you’re not allowed to work in Brazil on any type of study visa. Therefore, ensure you have enough financial resources to support yourself throughout your stay.
