Denmark Student Visa Requirements

To qualify for a Denmark student visa, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  1. Admission to Higher Education Program: 

Applicants must be admitted to a higher education program at an approved educational institution.

  1. Language Proficiency:

Proficiency in either English or Danish is required.

  1. Approved Educational Institution and Program:

The educational institution and program must be officially approved.

  1. Financial Support:

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to support themselves financially, with a minimum of DKK 6,397 per month.

Preparatory Course Conditions:

If enrolled in a preparatory course

Attendance is mandatory, determined by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science.

The course duration should not exceed one year.

Admission to the preparatory course must be linked to a higher education program.

Denmark Student Visa Process

The process for obtaining a Denmark student visa involves the following steps:

  1. Create Case Order ID:

Generate a case order ID on the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) website, specifying the case type as ‘Higher Education’.

  1. Pay Visa Fee:

Pay the visa application fee of 1,890 DKK (253.95 EUR) after obtaining the case order ID.

  1. Compile Required Documents:

Gather all necessary documentation, including a letter of acceptance from the educational institution and proof of financial support.

  1. Complete Application Form:

Fill out the application form, either online using the ST1 online system or a printable form. Your educational institution may need to complete part of the application.

  1. Submit Application:

Submit the completed application either online through SIRI or at a Danish diplomatic mission or application center.

  1. Register Biometrics:

Attend a Danish diplomatic mission or SIRI branch office to register biometric features, including a photo.

  1. Wait for Response:

Wait for a response, with the standard processing time being two months (60 days). You’ll receive notification of your application status via email or SMS.

Upon approval, applicants can travel to Denmark to enroll in their courses.

Note: Failure to comply with any step of the application process may result in rejection of the visa application.
