Georgia Student Visa Requirements
If you’ve gained admission to a Georgian educational institution, you’ll need the following when applying for the Georgia Student Visa:
- Letter of Enrollment:
A document confirming your acceptance into an authorized educational institution in Georgia.
- Proof of Financial Means:
Evidence of your financial capacity, which can include:
- Bank statements covering the past 6 months.
Documentation of scholarship awards.
- Proof of sponsorship.
Receipt of paid tuition fees.
- Proof of Previous Academic Qualifications:
Documents substantiating your academic background and qualifications.
Family Visa Requirements
For a Georgia Family Visa application, additional documents are necessary, such as:
- Documents Establishing Family Relationship:
- Marriage certificate for spouses.
- Birth certificate demonstrating parent-child relationship.
- Proof of Sponsor’s Legal Status in Georgia:
- Documentation confirming the sponsor’s legal status in Georgia, such as their ID Card or Residence Card.
Note:
The listed documents are not exhaustive, and additional documents may be requested by the embassy or consulate.
All documents must be translated into Georgian or English, with both the translated and original versions submitted.
Some documents may require legalization through an Apostille Stamp, at the Georgian embassy or consulate, or notarization, or a combination of these processes.
How to Apply for a Georgia Student Visa?
To apply for a Georgia visa, you must visit a Georgian diplomatic mission in your country or a neighboring one, unless you are eligible for the Georgia eVisa (see below). The application process involves several steps:
Submit an Online Application:
Begin by submitting an electronic application through the E-Application System to schedule your document submission appointment at an embassy or consulate. (Submit the electronic application here.)
Ensure to upload a photo meeting specific requirements (size: 5 mm length x 4 mm width, resolution: 300 DPI). Failure to comply will result in rejection of the photo upload.
Gather Required Documents:
After submitting the online application, collect the necessary documents to support your visa application (see Georgia visa requirements below).
Pay the Georgia Visa Fee:
Pay the Georgia visa fee, which is €20, at the bank account of the Georgia consulate or embassy where you will submit your documents.
Additionally, you may need to pay a 2% service fee (depending on the consulate/embassy) and bank service fees.
Submit Documents at a Georgian Diplomatic Mission:
Once you’ve paid the visa fee and assembled the documents, submit them either in person or by mail at a Georgian diplomatic mission.
Choose the diplomatic mission where you will apply through the E-Application System.
Receive Processed Visa:
Upon processing, the Georgia consulate/embassy staff will affix the visa to your passport.
Your passport will either be mailed back to you, or you can pick it up in person.
You can enter Georgia for the number of days specified on your visa.
Georgia Visa Fees:
The Georgia visa fee is €20, payable at the bank account of the respective Georgia consulate or embassy.
