Norway Student Visa Requirements
To obtain a Student Visa for Norway, you must meet the following criteria:
- Admission into a Norwegian university or college accredited by the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (NOKUT).
- Enrollment in a full-time course of study.
- Financial capability to cover tuition fees and living expenses, amounting to at least NOK 123,519 per year, deposited in a Norwegian bank account.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to applying for a Norway Student Visa:
- Gather necessary documents.
- Complete the online application on the Directorate of Immigration (UDI) website and pay the visa fee.
- Schedule an appointment at the nearest Norwegian Embassy or Visa Application Center.
- Submit your visa application documents.
- The Embassy/VAC forwards your application to the UDI in Norway.

Once you obtain the Student Visa (Residence Permit for Studying), you can travel to Norway and commence your studies. If your country typically requires a Norwegian Visa, you’ll receive an entry visa. Otherwise, you can enter Norway within the specified timeframe without needing a prior visa.
Norway Student Visa Fee
The fee for a Norway Student Visa is NOK 4,900 (approximately USD 545). However, applicants under 18 years of age can apply free of charge.
Payment of the fee is made via credit/debit card during the online application submission on the Directorate of Immigration website. Alternatively, if online payment is not feasible, you may have the option to pay the fee in person when submitting your application at the Embassy or Visa Application Center.
Additionally, if you apply at a Visa Application Center, you will also be required to pay a service fee.
