To obtain a Switzerland study visa, students must fulfill specific requirements outlined by the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM). These requirements demonstrate the student’s authenticity and intention to study in Switzerland. Key documents include:

  • Valid passport with at least 3 months’ validity beyond the return date
  • Passport size photos (4)
  • Visa application forms
  • Covering letter or letter of purpose
  • Resume (1 original, 1 copy)
  • Offer letter from a recognized university or college
  • Academic transcripts (secondary school, senior secondary school, university)
  • English language proficiency certificate
  • Proof of funds
  • Visa fee payment
  • Previous passports if required
  • Travel insurance if necessary
  • School or university’s no-objection certificate

Switzerland Study Visa Fee

The fee for a Switzerland Study Visa is approximately CHF 88 or INR 8,148. Additional charges may apply for visa processing outside of working hours or expedited services, which can be up to 50% higher than the standard fee.

How to Apply for a Switzerland Study Visa?

Here’s a step-by-step guide for Indian students applying for a Swiss visa:

  1. Obtain an offer letter from a Swiss university and book an appointment with a Swiss embassy or a Visa facilitation centre (VFS Global).
  2. Collect and prepare all required documents based on the visa type.
  3. Fill out the visa application form and pay the fee.
  4. Provide biometric data and photographs during the application process.
  5. Receive an acknowledgement number.
  6. Track your visa application online through VFS Global’s official website.
  7. Await the decision on your visa issuance, which will be communicated via email.
