Document Checklist for the UK Student Visa

Candidates applying for a UK Student Visa must adhere to the following document checklist:

  1. Tuberculosis Test Certificate: If applicable, provide a tuberculosis test certificate if you are from a country where this test is required.
  2. Health Surcharge Reference Number: You must pay the healthcare surcharge as part of your application and provide the reference number.
  3. Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS): Your education provider will issue a CAS once you have been offered a place on a course. This reference number must be entered on your visa application.
  4. Proof of Sufficient Funds: You need to demonstrate that you have enough funds to cover your course fees and living expenses for nine months. If the funds are under a parent’s name, proof of the relationship must be provided. The required funds are £1,334 per month for living in London and £1,023 per month for living outside London.
  5. ATAS Certificate: (Academic Technology Approval Scheme) If your course requires an ATAS certificate, include it in your application.
  6. Academic and Language Certificates: Provide certificates demonstrating your academic qualifications and language proficiency as required.
  7. Passport or Valid Travel Documentation: Submit your passport or other valid travel documents.
  8. Parental or Legal Guardian Consent: If you are under 18, include parental or legal guardian consent in your application.
  9. Proof of Relationship (if under 18): If under 18, provide evidence of your relationship with your parent or guardian.
  10. Blank Passport Page: Ensure you have a blank page in your passport for the visa.

Depending on your circumstances, additional documents may be required. It’s essential to thoroughly review the visa requirements and provide all necessary documents for a successful application.

Applying for UK Student Visa Online

You can apply for your student visa online through the official Gov.UK website. Applications can be submitted up to 6 months before your intended travel date.

UK Student Visa Fees

The visa fee varies depending on the type of visa:

  • £363 for applications from outside the UK
  • £490 to extend or switch student visas from within the UK
